PART 1 — REDUCING TENSION IN SHIFTING: A FOUNDATION FOR EASE
Welcome to Loving Your Shifts— I’m so glad you’re here.
My desire is to give you a fresh way to relate to, refine and/or learn how you are shifting; no matter where you are in your cello journey so that you can improve your technique and artistry.
Before you press play, take a moment to fully arrive. This first training sets the tone for everything that follows.
As you focus on reducing tension remember, shifting isn’t the problem; overwhelm is.
In Part One of this training, we slow everything down and return to the body. You’ll explore simple awareness practices that help release unnecessary tension and create a feeling of safety in movement to support more ease in your shifting.
This foundational focus will “soften” your effort. And, when effort softens, new possibilities begin to open.
Let’s get started.
When you’re ready, press play — and give yourself permission to move slowly.
-Sophie
